The entire debate is based on the argument that cigarettes and other tobacco products produce various harmful effects. Large number of non smokers of the world argued that smoking should be banned and that the use of tobacco in any form be abolished and discouraged. From their point of view, the smokers are a threat not only to themselves but also to the rest of the population of the world. They argue that passive smoking is equally dangerous when compared to active smoking and therefore believe that imposing cigarette bans is the right thing to do.
The large numbers of smokers from across the world have vehemently opposed the views of the non smokers. They argue on the grounds of a very valid point. They believe that an individual has the right to do whatever he wants to do with his life. Thus, if an individual wishes to smoke, then he should be allowed to do so. Various tobacco addicts from all over the world believe that smoking is a right that they can exercise of their own free will. In such circumstances, it becomes obvious that no amounts of bans can stop people from smoking or consuming any other tobacco products. The debate is widening with more valid points adding on both the sides. There is thus a need of finding other methods to bridge the gap between the smoking and non smoking cultures. Are we seeing health fighting on one side and human rights on the other? Drop Ship.
